Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly, chaired the National Green Hydrogen Council meeting in the presence of several ministers and officials in February 2024. During the meeting, a report was presented on the most important results of the Technical Secretariat of the National Green Hydrogen Council during the previous period, reviewing the developments of the Green Hydrogen Program, and the success of the various authorities concerned with this file in signing 27 memorandums of understanding with international developers in the green energy field to develop green fuel projects, in addition to the success in signing 10 binding framework agreements, noting in this regard the total capacities estimated to be produced, whether from solar and wind energy projects, green hydrogen, or green fuel, and the investment costs of those projects during the pilot and initial stages.  Among these projects is the project to establish a giant plant for the production of green hydrogen and its derivatives in El Tor city, and the project to establish a unit to separate and purify Kaolin sand within the scope of the main road Zafrana / Ras Gharib, as well as the proposed land to be made available to investors to establish projects for the production of electricity from wind energy, necessary for the production of green hydrogen, in the Gulf of Suez. Furthermore, important decisions were approved such as the approval of the establishment of the International Green Hydrogen Center in Egypt at the headquarters of Nile University, that will benefit various universities and other concerned parties.
